Professor Yogesh Jaluria presented a Plenary Lecture.

Professor Yogesh Jaluria presented a Plenary Lecture entitled, “Multiscale Modeling in Thermal Materials Processing,” at the 23rd National Heat and Mass Transfer Conference and the 1st International ISHMT-ASTFE Heat and Mass Transfer Conference, held during December 17-20 at Trivandrum, India. This Lecture was the Prof. M.V. Krishnamurthy Endowment Lecture. The conference had over 600 participants and was organized by the Indian Society of Heat and Mass Transfer (ISHMT) and co-sponsored by the American Society of Thermal and Fluid Engineers (ASTFE). The conference was hosted by Liquid Propulsion Systems of the Indian Space Research Organization, one of leading players in space research around the world. As the President of ASTFE, Professor Jaluria was also part of the Inaugural Session and spoke about the importance of heat transfer in processes and systems related to energy, environment, manufacturing, transportation, safety and other applications. The role heat transfer researchers should play in society and in enhancing lives around the world was stressed. His comments were later quoted in a national newspaper.
