MAE Ph.D. Student, Parameshwaran Pasupathy, Awarded 2026-2027 Louis Bevier Dissertation Fellowship
MAE Ph.D. student, Parameshwaran Pasupathy, has been selected as a recipient of the University and Louis Bevier Dissertation Completion Fellowship for the 2026-2027 academic year.
This highly competitive award recognizes doctoral students of exceptional promise across all disciplines at Rutgers. The fellowship will support Paramesh as he completes his dissertation, "On the Multiscale Multi-Model approach for characterizing brain white matter mechanics."
Cutting-Edge Computational Research
As a member of the Advanced Materials and Structures Laboratory and advised by Dr. Assimina Pelegri, Paramesh integrates diverse approaches such as continuum mechanics, machine learning, uncertainty quantification, non-local modeling techniques, and high-performance computing into his research.
Impact Beyond the Lab
During his PhD, Paramesh also worked at Dassault Systèmes as a cardiovascular biomechanics engineer. He made important contributions to the Living Heart Model by improving its robustness and computational efficiency, and incorporating machine learning techniques that have accelerated the material calibration of bi-ventricular passive properties.
