Professor Yogesh Jaluria has been selected to receive the William Begell Medal for lifetime achievements in thermal science and engineering. The award was established by the Assembly of International Heat Transfer Conferences, the International Center for Heat and Mass Transfer, and Begell House Inc., which publishes a wide range of journals and books across many areas, including heat transfer.

The William Begell Medal is bestowed upon an internationally recognized, highly accomplished researcher and leader in fundamentals or applications of thermal sciences and engineering based on their lifetime achievements. It is considered to be one of the highest honors in the heat transfer community. The recipient is selected by a council that involves representatives of international societies and the above three organizations.

Professor Jaluria will be presented with the medal and a certificate at the 18th International Heat Transfer Conference to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in August 2026, where he will also present a plenary talk.
