Professor Jaluria delivered two Plenary talks at international conferences

Professor Yogesh Jaluria delivered two invited Plenary talks at international conferences this summer. The first one was the 4th AIGE/IIETA International Conference and 13th AIGE 2019 Conference on Energy Conversion, Management, Recovery, Saving, Storage and Renewable Systems, organized under the joint auspices of AIGE (Italian Association of Energy Management) and IIETA (International Information Technology and Engineering Association) in Matera, Italy, during June 12-14, 2019. Matera was chosen since it has been designated as the cultural capital of Europe for 2019. The conference was largely attended by researchers from Europe. The title of the talk was “Optimization of Thermal Systems to Reduce Energy Consumption and Environmental Effect.” It focused on energy and environmental impact related to practical thermal systems. The presentation was also published in the journal of IIETA. The second conference was the 6th ASME Micro/Nanoscale Heat & Mass Transfer International Conference (MNHMT2019), held in Dalian, China, during July 8-10, 2019. The conference was attended by about 200 researchers in this field from around the world. A fairly large contingent from USA was present at the conference.  The title of the talk was “Transport Processes in the Deposition of Micro/Nanoscale Thin Film.” Professor Jaluria focused on his recent work on the deposition of Gallium Nitride films and the optimization of the chemical vapor deposition reactor. Both talks generated a significant amount of interest and discussion.
