Professor DeMauro receives AFOSR award

Professor DeMauro has been awarded a grant from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research for a project entitled "A Passive Strategy for Improving Aero-Optics Through a Supersonic Shear Layer.” This is a 3.5-year project, involving collaboration with the Air Force Research Laboratory at Kirtland AFB, with Professor DeMauro as the primary investigator. This project, to be performed within Rutgers University’s Emil Buehler Mach 3.4 Supersonic Wind Tunnel, will use laser-based optical measurements to provide new insights into the attenuation of large-scale disturbances that can develop within separated flow.
